Luke Voit Out With Sore Hamstring
2 years agoSan Diego Padres designated hitter Luke Voit (hamstring) is dealing with a sore hamstring and will sit out on Thursday against the Philadelphia Phillies as a precaution, according to skipper Bob Melvin. It will be Voit's first day off since May 24, but it sounds like he'll be back in there on Friday. The 31-year-old slugger has a lot of swing and miss in his game, so he probably won't ever help with a high batting average in fantasy. He's hitting .236/.326/.436 with nine home runs, 32 RBI, 27 runs scored and one stolen base in 52 games as the Friars' primary DH. Catcher Jorge Alfaro will serve as the DH and bat cleanup on Thursday against Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez. Alfaro is swinging a hot bat in the last two weeks, going 12-for-35 (.343) with three home runs and six RBI, so fantasy managers might want to continue riding him.
