5 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit (abdomen) hit in the cage and fielded ground balls on Wednesday, after landing on the 10-day injured list with sports hernia. Voit felt good afterwards, and manager Aaron Boone said the 28-year-old could join High-A Tampa or Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre next week for full workouts before following up with a minor-league rehab assignment. Voit is expected to miss the majority of August but he could be activated before the end of the month if all goes well with his rehab assignment.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
