3 years agoWhen the New England Patriots selected quarterback Mac Jones with the 15th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, they made the statement that they believed to have their quarterback of the future. But in light of the recent release of quarterback Cam Newton, Jones' future begins Week 1 vs. Miami. Having been the runner-up to the Heisman Trophy Award last season while at Alabama, Jones will inherit a Patriots offense desperately looking for an infusion of consistency after an erratic year from its signal callers in '20. He likely isn't on many Draft boards, except for those that boast two-QB formats, in which case, he can be seen as a high-upside late addition. His matchup with the Dolphins in Week 1 makes for a contrarian DFS play at best, but Jones will have nearly unabated access to the starting gig this season as New England rolls with him under center.--Jesse Borek
