3 years agoMackenzie Dern took a decision loss in Saturday's main-event battle with Marina Rodriguez to bring her four-fight winning streak to a halt. Statistically, Dern was unable to keep up with the striking of Rodriguez, only landing 49 significant strikes (80 total strikes) compared to Rodriguez's 144 significant strikes. Dern's objective, as it is in most of her fights, was to get her opponent to the mat to implement her jiu-jitsu game. Dern was only able to land one of her eight takedown tries on the night, though. Dern always has the potential to be a fantasy star with her amazing finishing ability, so don't give up on her after this loss.--Matt Bricker - RotoBaller
