5 years agoSan Diego Padres rookie pitching prospects MacKenzie Gore and Luis Patino will be brought along slowly in spring training, per manager Jayce Tingler. With game action commencing, Tingler indicated it’ll be at least a week before either take the mound. Despite being baseball’s No. 5 and 27 prospects, respectively, Gore and Patino barely scratched Double-A in 2019 combining for under 30 innings. Both players are expected to open the season in the minor leagues, but a midseason call-up is possible. With a strong spring, Gore’s current ADP of 300 is certain to rise, while the fantasy community expects a more gradual development curve for Patino (699 ADP). With 75 innings a reasonable ceiling for either pitcher, standard league managers should temper expectations. Both players remain premium options in all dynasty formats.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
