MacKenzie Gore, Luis Patino Don't Make The Roster
4 years agoSan Diego Padres top pitching prospects MacKenzie Gore and Luis Patino did not make the Opening Day roster. This was widely projected as both were building up as starters with the Friars rotation mostly settled. The expectation is both Gore (MLB’s No.5 prospect) and Patino (No. 27) have a path to debut in 2020, whether in relief or if injuries ravage the rotation. Both youngsters were electric in 2019 across High- and Double-A. The 21-year-old Gore dominated to a 1.69 ERA and 12.0 K/9 in 101 innings while Patino (20) managed a 2.57 ERA and 11.7 K/9 across 94 2/3 frames. Both will remain premium dynasty pieces as Padres fans and fantasy players anxiously await their arrival.
