5 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner did not have his best stuff in Wednesday's 9-8 win over the Cardinals. Bumgarner allowed six runs on nine hits (including a solo home run) and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings pitched. While the poor start came at an inopportune time given the fantasy playoffs, the matchup was tough and he has pitched well overall this season as always, going 9-8 with a 3.81 ERA, 179 strikeouts, and 37 walks in 181 2/3 IP. Bumgarner is slated for a better matchup in his next start against the Pirates at home. Regardless, fantasy owners should be starting him if they have the opportunity.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
