Madison Bumgarner Goes Eight Strong Innings In Win
2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner tossed eight strong innings on Saturday as his club defeated the Nationals 7-2. The veteran southpaw struck out a season-high nine batters while allowing two runs on four hits and no walks to take his record to 6-9 on the season. Bumgarner allowed a run in the third and then surrendered a solo homer to Victor Robles in the eighth as he now sits with a serviceable 3.71 ERA and 1.33 WHIP on the season. Although the Nats aren't a formidable opponent, the 32-year-old has shown he can still hold fantasy relevance, but he'll face much tougher opponent in his next start versus the Braves in Atlanta.
