2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said that left-hander Madison Bumgarner will be skipped his next time through the starting rotation this weekend during the series against the Chicago White Sox. Bumgarner will work with pitching coach Brent Strom to tweak some things and will return during the team's series against the Philadelphia Phillies, which starts next Monday. The 33-year-old veteran southpaw has been getting hit around over his last seven starts dating back to July 15, allowing 30 earned runs on 53 hits (six homers surrendered) while walking 14 and striking out 31 in 41 2/3 innings. He's now 6-13 on the year with a 4.53 ERA (4.64 FIP), a 1.43 WHIP and a 97:43 K:BB in 133 innings over 25 starts. Fantasy managers may want to keep him benched in deeper leagues until he turns things around.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
