4 years agoMakwan Amirkhani just couldn't get Edson Barboza to the mat when he needed to on Saturday and dropped a unanimous decision to Barboza. The victor of this contest was going to be determined by who could implement their game plan better. Amirkhani landed three takedowns, but they were all in survival mode and never really put Mr. Finland in an advantageous position. He was only able to land 11 significant strikes (25 total strikes) in the 15 minutes of action. This is just a minor setback for the Finnish submission artist, who will rebound in short order.--Matt Bricker - RotoBaller
