Mallex Smith Extends League-Leading Steal Total
5 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mallex Smith went 3-for-4 in Thursday's game versus the Tigers, now giving him multi-hit games in four of his last seven games. The 26-year-old is batting .333 in this span, and with two more thefts in this contest, he now has a league-leading 34 stolen bases on the season. Despite hitting a measly .219 in the second half, Smith has kept his fantasy value afloat with his legs. If he could produce even a league-average OBP number, it would mouth-watering to think of what the speedster could accomplish in the SB column. Hopefully Smith can ride the momentum from this mini hot streak the rest of the way, but owners can still count on him to put up steady steal numbers.
