5 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mallex Smith’s clutch hit in the ninth propelled the club to victory over the Tigers 3-2 on Friday. He delivered a walk-off single to end the game finishing the night going 2-for-4 with a strikeout and a caught stealing. It was the seventh time he was thrown out trying to steal this season, but he still sits second in the league with 27 thefts. Smith holds a slowly improving .236/.307/.360 slash line since starting the season batting under the Mendoza line through the first month and a half, and remains an asset for his wheels on the basepaths.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
