Manny Machado Appeals Suspension, Smacks Homer
6 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado hit a double and smacked a solo home run in four at-bats Monday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Machado was handed a one-game suspension Monday morning after arguing balls and strikes over the weekend in Colorado and is appealing the ruling. The 26-year-old’s long ball was his 14th of the season and he has his slash up to .264/.346/.464 with 82 runs-plus-RBI. Machado’s numbers still look pedestrian compared to his All-Star track record, but he’s been heating up, registering a .948 OPS in June with five homers. Keep a lookout when Machado’s suspension ruling will be finalized, but fantasy owners should feel good about the direction he’s trending.
