Manny Machado Belts First Homer As Padre
6 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado smacked his first home run of the year on Wednesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Machado provided insurance for the Friars with a two-run job in the seventh inning to secure the victory. He finished the day 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs and two RBI. After a quiet start to 2019, Machado is riding a modest three-game hitting streak and slashing .240/.321/.360 through seven games. With his first extra-base hit of the year, the Padres and fantasy squads are ready for the 26-year-old slugger to round into form. Considering the adjustment period a new team, league and a mega-contract may require, there’s no reason to worry yet.
