4 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo homers in Sunday’s victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Machado started the scoring with a blast off starter Madison Bumgarner in the first inning and encored with another round-tripper in the second frame as part of a six-homer barrage against D-backs pitching. With the big day, the 28-year-old maintains a modest 105 wRC+ while slashing .213/.314/.443 with four homers, two steals and 20 runs-plus-RBI. Despite the slow start, Machado’s upped his walk rate to 13 percent and his peripherals suggest better days ahead. He’s a fantasy buy-low candidate.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
