2 years agoSan Diego Padres' third baseman Manny Machado (elbow) was absent from Saturday's lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates due to tennis elbow. The 29-year-old received the day off on Saturday and is considered day-to-day. His elbow issue doesn't appear to be long-term, and Machado should return to the lineup soon. Machado is off to a terrific start in 2022, slashing .357/.438/.583 with eight home runs, 27 RBI, 35 runs, and seven stolen bases over 45 games 2022. Ha-Seong Kim started at third base and batted second in Saturday's game. Kim is mainly an option in deep-league formats after slashing .215/.304/.377 over 148 plate appearances in 2022.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
