Manny Machado Defends POTW Honors With Four Knocks
4 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado went 4-for-5 with a double, triple and run scored Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners. Machado’s strong effort was squandered in a loss, but the 28-year-old has collected knocks in seven consecutive contests. Batting .536 during his tear with eight extra-base hits (three homers), the defending NL Player of the Week has pulled his season slash to .280/.375/.568 in 136 plate appearances. He’s amassed eight long balls, three steals and 56 runs-plus-RBI in the process. Back to being a multi-category monster, Machado should be a fixture in all fantasy lineups.
