4 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado smashed three home runs in a doubleheader Thursday against the Seattle Mariners. Machado cranked a pair of long balls in the first game then hit a solo shot in his first at-bat of the encore. He collected five total knocks, five RBI and four runs scored across the two contests. The 28-year-old has been on an absolute tear during his nine-game hitting streak, batting .528 (19-for-36) with six homers and 27 runs-plus-RBI. After a slow start and some bad luck, Machado is now slashing .294/.382/.635 with eleven homers, three steals and 54-runs-plus-RBI.
