4 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado went 2-for-4 with a home run and double Monday against the Colorado Rockies. Machado blasted a two-run shot off starter Jon Gray in the first inning to kickstart the 7-0 blowout victory. Despite a hard-hit rate and average exit velocity near the top of the league, Machado holds a modest .237/.337/.414 slash with six homers, six steals and 50 runs-plus-RBI through 178 plate appearances. Although he's hit more grounders, Machado's quality batted balls suggest his fortunes should turn around. Even with the erratic numbers, the bonus speed component keeps him a high-end fantasy asset in all formats.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
