Manny Machado Stays Hot With 16th Homer
3 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a two-run homer Sunday against the Washington Nationals. Machado singled and scored in the fourth inning before launching his 16th long ball in the eighth to put the Friars temporarily ahead in the eventual loss. Entering the second half sizzling at the dish, the 29-year-old finishes the series 6-for-12 with five runs and RBI apiece. Overall, he's slashing .276/.360/.492 with nine steals and 123 runs-plus-RBI across 367 plate appearances to complement the power output.
