Manny Machado Still Out But Not Expected To Land On IL

3 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado (shoulder) is expected to take batting practice Tuesday and could be available off the bench. Machado has been out since May 20 and the Friars believe it's not serious enough for an IL stint. The 28-year-old has had an uneven year, slashing .225/.323/.394 with six homers, six steals and 50 runs-plus-RBI across 186 plate appearances but continues to be amongst the league leaders in hard contact. Fantasy managers should optimistically expect Machado back before the weekend. Infielder Ha-Seong Kim will continue filling in at the hot corner. With just a .497 OPS against right-handers, Kim isn't a recommended DFS play against Milwaukee Brewers starter Corbin Burnes.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
