Manuel Margot Back On Fantasy Map
5 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Manuel Margot came a home run short of the cycle in Thursday’s loss to the Miami Marlins. Margot finished the day 3-for-3 with a walk, lifting his slash to .251/.322/.403. While the overall numbers aren’t impressive, Margot has posted a 1.095 OPS in July with three homers, two steals and a surprising nine walks compared to seven strikeouts. The 24-year-old has gone from fantasy sleeper in 2018 to a nonfactor this season but has quietly improved his plate discipline and earned every day playing time in center field. With a perfect 12-for-12 in steals, if he regains the modest pop he showed in 2017 (13 homers), Margot could reclaim relevance as a deeper-league or low-cost DFS option.
