Manuel Margot Begins Rehab Assignment Tuesday
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Manuel Margot (knee) will serve as the designated hitter on Tuesday to begin his minor league rehab assignment in the Florida Complex League. Margot is eligible to return from the 60-day injured list on Aug. 20. The 27-year-old has been out of action since June 20 due to a right knee sprain, but he's nearing a return to the major league club. Once he's ready to return, he should see an everyday role in Tampa's outfield now that Kevin Kiermaier (hip) is done for the rest of the year. Harold Ramirez (thumb) is also on the injured list. Margot was having one of his best seasons before his injury, slashing .302/.365/.423 with three home runs, 27 RBI, 21 runs scored and five stolen bases in 51 games, so he warrants a pickup if he's available on your league's waiver wire.
