3 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays and outfielder Manuel Margot are closing in on a contract extension on Tuesday that would be for $19 million over two years, in addition to the $5.6 million that he's due this season, according to sources. Margot will now be with Tampa through the 2024 season, if this deal becomes official. The 27-year-old Dominican has hit .258/.317/.375 with 11 home runs, 68 RBI, 74 runs scored and 25 stolen bases in 623 plate appearances over 172 games in his two seasons with the Rays. The fact that Margot could be in line for a platoon role once again limits his fantasy upside, but he should still have some appeal in deep mixed and AL-only leagues for his speed.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
