Manuel Margot Crushes Game-Winning Homer
6 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Manuel Margot smacked a game-clinching home run Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Margot entered the game as a defensive replacement and promptly recorded his first long ball of the season. In part-time duties, Margot is slashing .333/.351/.500 on the year with a homer and steal apiece. While he’s yielded center field starts to outfielder Wil Myers, Margot’s playing time is sure to increase if he keeps hitting and outfielder Franchy Cordero (elbow) remains on the shelf. But batting at the bottom of the order, he’s currently not a reliable fantasy starter in most formats.
