Manuel Margot Homers In Second Straight Game
6 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Manuel Margot crushed a three-run homer in Monday's loss against the Texas Rangers. The bomb was his only hit in five at-bats but Monday's blast was his second in consecutive days. Margot is sizzling at the plate in June with a .348 average, two homers and seven doubles. He's riding a six-game hitting streak (.455 average) and has gradually lifted his OPS from .522 to .699 since May 21. Importantly for fantasy owners, Margot is back atop the Padres lineup and tallying extra-base hits, putting him in prime position for counting stats. If he continues the momentum and improves his basepath efficiency (6-for-12 in steals attempts), Margot could re-emerge as the mid-tier outfield asset expected of him this offseason.
