Manuel Margot Officially Placed On The 10-Day Injured List
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Manuel Margot (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left hamstring strain. As expected, the 26-year-old landed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. The move is retroactive to July 6. The severity of his hamstring issue is unknown, but Margot will be out for at least the next 10 days. He slashed .252/.297/.404 with nine home runs, 44 RBI, 32 runs scored, and nine stolen bases across 76 games before being shelved. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Margot in deep-league formats. The Rays No. 2 prospect Vidal Brujan was called up from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday and could see the bulk of at-bats while Margot is sidelined. Brujan has elite speed and swiped 15 bags over 49 games in Triple-A. He is batting fifth and starting at second base in Wednesday's Game 1 against Cleveland. Ryan Sherriff was recalled in a corresponding move. Sherriff owned a 12.27 ERA and a 2.45 WHIP across three 2/3 innings and isn't on the fantasy radar.
