6 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marco Estrada was forced to leave Tuesday’s outing against the New York Mets in the first inning with an apparent injury. After allowing a two-run bomb to Mets second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera, Estrada walked off with a trainer. He threw only 12 pitches prior to departing. We’ll likely have an injury update soon, so stay tuned. It’s worth noting that there was obviously something wrong with Estrada early, as his fastball was only topping out at 85 mph in the short stint he was in the game. It’s a tough blow for Estrada and fantasy owners, who were counting on Estrada to take advantage of the salivating matchup against arguably baseball’s worst offense. Right-hander Jake Petricka took the mound in Estrada's place.--John Smith
