Marco Estrada Excels Against Angels But Loses
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marco Estrada did not have the easiest matchup in the world against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, but much like other difficult opponents he’s faced lately, he excelled. Estrada may have taken the loss, but he pitched well across seven innings in the 2-1 defeat, allowing only two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out seven. In Estrada’s dominant June, he’s now pitched sparkling outings against the Angels, New York Yankees, Washington Nationals and the lowly Baltimore Orioles. In those four games, he’s put up a 1.75 ERA with 26 strikeouts against five walks across 25 2/3 innings pitched. He needs to be rolled out there in all formats with the way he’s throwing.
