Marco Estrada Has Mild Glute Strain
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marco Estrada left Tuesday’s start against the New York Mets after only 12 pitches due to hip soreness, but now we know a little bit more. Initial X-rays on the hip were negative, but an MRI revealed Estrada has a mild gluteus strain. As of now, we don’t know what the current plan or timetable is here. It’s possible Estrada ends up on the disabled list, but there's also a chance the team waits a few days to see how he responds to rest. Estrada is probably questionable, at best, for his next scheduled start on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves. To be safe, fantasy owners should make a short-term contingency plan just in case.
