5 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Marco Gonzales picked up his 12th victory of the season in the team’s 8-1 win over the Tigers Saturday. The lefty completed seven frames giving up one run on six hits while striking out eight in the 105-pitch effort. Gonzales failed to give up a free pass dominating the underwhelming Detroit lineup all afternoon. He’s been a streaky pitcher this season, but when he’s on his game, he’s displayed ace-like stuff although these outings have usually come against sub-par lineups. Gonzales will take a 4.21 ERA and 1.31 WHIP into his next outing against the Astros, which will undoubtedly give him a tougher test.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
