7 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Marco Gonzales (arm) was hit by a line drive in his right arm/hand in his spring outing on Monday and exited the game. Gonzales was traded over from the Cardinals in July of last season and made eight starts for the Mariners after coming back from Tommy John surgery. He predictably struggled with keeping the ball in the park and didn't strike out many batters, but his control was fine, and he pitched well in the minors. The young left-hander may not open the regular season in the M's starting rotation, but he could be the first option to replace an injured or ineffective starter, and he has upside in deeper leagues. Hopefully his injury Monday night isn't too serious. Check back for updates on his status.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
