Marco Gonzales Hopes To Make Next Start
3 years agoUpdating a previous report, X-rays came back negative on Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Marco Gonzales' left wrist on Wednesday night after he took a 109 mph line drive off his arm against the Tampa Bay Rays in the first inning. The left-hander is dealing with a left wrist contusion and is hoping to make his next scheduled start on Monday in Houston. Gonzales dodged a bullet in his start on Wednesday, but it remains to be seen if he'll actually make his next scheduled start. The 30-year-old southpaw gave up a run on one hit while walking one and striking out one in just one-third of an inning to take the loss. Although he's 1-2 to start the season, Gonzales has been decent with five earned runs allowed on 16 hits while walking three and striking out 13 in 13 2/3 innings over his first three starts in 2022.
