Marco Gonzales Logs Quality Start In Season Debut
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Marco Gonzales got the win over the Oakland Athletics in the first game of the MLB season on Wednesday in Tokyo. The southpaw was shaky early giving up runs in each of the first three innings but bounced back nicely retiring the last eight batters he faced. Gonzales went six innings, giving up four runs (three earned) while recording four strikeouts to just one free pass. It was a good start for the Mariners "ace," but things may not be as rosy when he takes the mound in his next start versus the Boston Red Sox next weekend.
