Marco Luciano Has Three Hits at Low-A

3 years agoSan Francisco Giants prospect Marco Luciano went 3-for-4 on Wednesday at the Low-A level. The 19-year-old shortstop is now hitting .271 with 14 home runs and a 136 wRC+ Along with his plus power output, Luciano is showing a strong on-base presence with 30 walks in 56 games, which is good for a 12% walk rate. And despite the regular power displays, the young prospect has a promising strikeout rate at just 21% and hasn't been selling out for his over-the-fence pop. This is Luciano's first full season in pro ball after he debuted at the Rookie ball level in 2019 and then saw his 2020 season eliminated by the pandemic.
