7 years agoOakland Athletics shortstop Marcus Semien continued his torrid start to the season with a 2-for-5 performance in Wednesday night's 16-6 rout of the Dodgers. Semien, who scored three runs and knocked in four on Wednesday, extended his hitting streak to nine games. He has successfully reached base in all 13 games this year. He could very well be playing with the fear of being replaced in the A's everyday lineup, as prospect Franklin Barreto is ready to roll, but Barreto will remain in the minors until Semien slows his role at the plate. Semien should still be plugged into all rotisserie lineups, but be wary of using him in points leagues, as he currently holds a 29 percent strikeout rate.--Brendan Kennealy
