3 years agoToronto Blue Jays second baseman Marcus Semien was the lone bright spot for the offense on Thursday as he went 3-for-4 with two runs in the club's 7-2 loss to the Mariners. Semien started his afternoon off by swatting his 20th homer of the season off Yusei Kikuchi in the first inning, and he later added a single and a double in which he would later come around to score. Semien is on pace for a career season with 60 runs, 52, RBI, 10 SB, and a .291 BA through 79 games, which is coming at an opportune time since he's in another contract year. Managers should feel confident in the 30-year-old the rest of the way since it doesn't appear like he'll move out of the leadoff spot for the Jays.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
