Marcus Semien Walks It Off For Blue Jays
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays second baseman Marcus Semien was the hero in Saturday's first game of a doubleheader, swatting a walkoff home run to propel his club to a 1-0 victory. On an afternoon dominated by pitching on both sides, the 31-year-old veteran hit the first pitch of the inning delivered from Matt Barnes over the left field fence for what was only the team's second hit of the ball game. The knock extended his hitting streak to eight games as he's now hitting .276 with 26 HR, 82 runs, 67 RBI, and 11 SB in 108 games, proving to be one of the best free-agent signings of the offseason, and one of the best draft-day values.
