Marcus Stroman Lasts Just Three Innings On Sunday
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Marcus Stroman lasted just three innings in the Mets 4-2 loss to the Phillies on Sunday. He was making his first start since his June 22 start against the Braves in which he left early after one inning due to left hip soreness. Stroman allowed two earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three batters. Stroman was the pitcher of record, as his record fell to 6-6 on the season. Despite a rough week in which Stroman managed to pitch only four innings over two starts, he has had a terrific campaign so far in 2021. Stroman has posted a 2.45 ERA, a 1.11 WHIP, and struck out 78 batters over 88 1/3 innings pitched. He remains a solid, consistent fantasy contributor who should continue to provide excellent ratios and quality starts. Stroman will look to get back on track in his next scheduled start on Friday against the Yankees in the Bronx.
