Marcus Stroman Picks Up Win Tuesday
4 years agoPitching in his first game since 2019, New York Mets starting pitcher Marcus Stroman threw six impressive innings in the Mets' 8-4 win against the Phillies on Tuesday. Stroman, the pitcher of record on the winning side, allowed just one earned one, two walks, and three hits while striking out three. Stroman showed no signs of rust as he consistently found the corners of the plate with his slider and, true to form, induced a number of ground balls, recording 13 groundouts. Stroman should be in line for a solid campaign in 2021 as he is well-rested after opting out of the 2020 season. He is coming off 2019 in which he posted a 3.22 ERA and struck out 159 across 184 1/3 innings pitched.
