6 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marcus Stroman was supposed to have a rehab start with Double-A New Hampshire on Monday, but it was rained out. One would think Stroman would simply start the Fisher Cats’ next game as he rehabs from right shoulder inflammation, but according to Stroman that will not be the case. Late Monday night, Stroman tweeted that his next start would be back with the Blue Jays. While we don’t have confirmation on that, odds are Stroman wouldn’t publicly say that if it was not the case. Assuming that’s true, it would seem he could take the mound on Saturday when the Jays travel to Los Angeles to take on the Angels. Whenever his next start comes, it likely won’t be a long one – he only threw 59 pitches in his first rehab outing with High-A Dunedin last Wednesday, allowing two runs over 4 1/3 innings pitched. We’ll probably see a cap of somewhere around 75 pitches for Stroman’s next effort. Stroman is a great bet to vastly improve upon his 7.71 ERA upon his return, assuming he is truly healthy again.--John Smith
