3 years agoNow a winner of three straight in the Octagon, Marina Rodriguez put on a dominant showing to take a unanimous decision from Mackenzie Dern in Saturday's five-round main event. Rodriguez scored 49-46 on all three scorecards. Statistically, Rodriguez did exactly what was needed, tallying 144 significant strikes (148 total strikes) compared to Dern's 49. She was also able to stay off of the mat, only being taken down once out of Dern's eight attempts. With the win, Rodriguez finds herself climbing near the very top of the division with a chance for a title shot soon. She typically wins by decision, but if she gets more five-round bouts, that will add up to quite the number of significant strikes.--Matt Bricker - RotoBaller
