Mariners, Julio Rodriguez Finalizing Monster Extension
2 years agoThe Seattle Mariners and rookie outfielder Julio Rodriguez are finalizing a deal on Friday that is expected to guarantee him more than $200 million with the possibility of earning as much as $450 million-plus, according to a source. ESPN's Jeff Passan is reporting Rodriguez will make $210 million guaranteed over 14 years with the ability to grow to well over $400 million. The deal includes player and team options. J-Rod is the real deal, as he's hitting .269/.328/.471 with 20 home runs, 64 RBI, 64 runs scored and 23 stolen bases in his first 420 major league at-bats. The 21-year-old superstar will be the face of the franchise for the next decade, and he should be one of the highest-ceiling fantasy players as well as he moves into his prime.
