3 years agoThe Seattle Mariners are making a push to acquire Kansas City Royals second baseman/outfielder Whit Merrifield, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. Merrifield is currently signed through 2022, with the Royals holding a team option for 2023. He's been the premier base stealing option in fantasy for several years now, and he currently leads the major leagues with 25 stolen bases while slashing .272/.320/.401 with eight home runs, 52 RBI and 55 runs over 96 games this season. Between the offensive struggles of Jarred Kelenic, Shed Long Jr. and Dylan Moore, Merrifield would be an instant and significant upgrade for Seattle if a deal is reached.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
