7 years agoSan Francisco Giants closer Mark Melancon (forearm) told reporters after his debut on Wednesday that he's still feeling discomfort but is still progressing. Melancon pitched in his first game since September after undergoing an operation to release pressure on the pronator muscle in his arm. Melancon initially was considered a bounce-back candidate heading into 2018, but it seems like it may be better to let someone else deal with him as their closer this year. Melancon is being counted on to be the Giants closer. He is expected to be ready for Opening Day, but it would be wise for his owners to handcuff him with relief pitchers Sam Dyson or Tony Watson.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
