7 years agoSan Francisco Giants closer Mark Melancon (forearm) will face hitters on Thursday for the first time since being placed on the disabled list prior to Opening Day. If everything goes well, Melancon will begin his rehab assignment on Sunday or Monday. Hunter Strickland has done a good job filling in as the team’s closer and should be expected to keep the job until Melancon can prove he is healthy and ready to return to a high-leverage role.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
