6 years agoWinnipeg Jets center Mark Scheifele and right wing Blake Wheeler each posted a goal and an assist with a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 3-1 road win against the Buffalo Sabres. Scheifele assisted on Wheeler's go-ahead goal with just 3:55 remaining in regulation, then he added an empty-net goal in the closing moments to seal the road victory. Center Andrew Copp opened the scoring early in the second period with a shorthanded goal, too. Wheeler is heating up since the All-Star break, posting three goals with six points over the past seven outings. Surprisingly, it was Wheeler's first game-winning goal of the season, and first since Oct. 29, 2017.--Daniel Dobish
