3 years agoNew York Mets corner infield/outfield prospect Mark Vientos went 1-for-4 with a solo home run on Thursday for Triple-A Syracuse. With the home run, he now has five on the season to go along with 15 RBI and a .210 batting average. Vientos has shown an increase in power as he has matured and finished 2021 with 25 home runs and 83 RBI to go along with a steady .281 batting average between Double-A and Triple-A. The 22-year-old has shown plenty of power and an ability to be a solid contributor at the dish, but he has struggled defensively as a corner infielder and outfielder. With the designated hitter now universal, that may be his best path to the big leagues. Added to the 40-man roster this past offseason, there is a true chance that Vientos could get the call at some point in 2022. For now, Vientos remains a better fit in dynasty leagues. If he were to get the call in 2022 and given at-bats, he would be worth a look in redraft leagues due to his power.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
