4 years agoThough each of the three judges scored the fight differently (29-27, 29-28, 30-26), Marlon Vera (17-7-1) still walked out the victor in a tough-fought, three-round war with Davey Grant on Saturday. Grant seemed to be reeling off more strikes in the first round, but Vera appeared to do more damage with his shots. In the second round, Vera was able to turn it up and take a decision win. Through 15 minutes of action, Vera landed a very solid number of significant strikes with 105 (112 total strikes). He was also 2-for-2 on his takedown tries. Coming off of a loss to Jose Aldo, this was a very important matchup for Vera, and he delivered.--Matt Bricker - RotoBaller
