6 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught only one pass for three yards in a Week 12 Sunday night matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Valdes-Scantling had established himself as the No. 2 receiving option in Green Bay but has been massively disappointing over the past three weeks. The rookie wide receiver has big play ability and was able to catch some teams off guard while filling in for an injured Randall Cobb. Now that he has garnered more attention from opposing defenses he has struggled to produce. Valdes-Scantling has always lagged in his route running and has had a tremendous amount of difficulty creating any separation from defenders. While he could be better utilized within the offense, it is time to reign in the more optimistic of expectations. Marquez Valdes-Scantling has value as a desperation flex fill-in, but does not need to be rostered as the fantasy playoffs begin.--Tyger McGuiggan
